Beekeeping Classes

We offer a Basic Beekeeping Class for folks just getting started and an Intermediate Class for those with at least a year of beekeeping under their hive tool belts. Both include loads of information as well as some open hive Hands On sessions. (see schedule below)

The two part Basic Classes are offered most every Saturday and Sunday in the spring and a few weekend dates in the fall. They are held in the mornings of the Pick Up Dates, typically from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon. We share a 2 hour video series (Part 1) which is required to view before coming to the in person session (Part 2) of the class and handling live bees. Most basic questions about bees and equipment are answered in the video, so watching the full series is beneficial for most everyone. We even include a few bonus videos that are great for all beekeepers, but the bonus videos are not required to watch before Part 2 of the class.

The Intermediate Classes are less frequent, but also occur on the weekends typically from 10:00 AM until at least 12:00 noon, usually later with time for questions and more demonstrations.

Classes are weather permitting, of course. We do not open hives in heavy rain or temps below 60
