This was in a box of old beekeeping supplies my Aunt Harriett gave me after Uncle Dan passed... here we have interesting system from the old A.I. Root beekeeping supply store that was in down town San Antonio, Texas for many years.
A swarm would attempt to leave. Queen can’t exit through the excluder and goes up through the cones. She gets confined in the top chamber.
