Step by Step Instructions for installing a 5 Frame Nuc into a 10 frame hive.

This is a very straight forward process and should only take a few minutes and minimal smoke. Using the smoke sparingly both in the beginning, to keep the bees calm, and again at the end to coax the bees into the hive so the cover can be replaced without crushing bees.

The mite strip should be removed before starting and replaced afterwards.

Step 1

Get the hive body ready by removing the frames and feeder

Step 2

Smoke the bees very lightly and gently open the ProNuc transport box

Step 3

Gently remove a frame from the outside of the nuc box

Step 4

Place the first frame of bees into the hive body, avoiding bumping the sides

Step 5

Repeat until all of the nuc frames are in the hive body

Step 6

Shake the remaining bees from the nuc box into the hive body

Step 7

Add the feeder and required number of frames to finish filling the hive

Step 8

Add close to a gallon and a half of sugar syrup to fill the feeder, avoiding spills

Step 9

Make sure the entrance is open and replace the inner cover and top cover
