We are based out of Somerset, Texas, but have multiple locations, also called "bee yards", all around south central and deep south Texas where we keep bees.
We do not have a brick and mortar store and we do not offer tours. Appointments are required.

We are committed to ensuring the honey bee's future in our community. Honey bees are more than just our business . . . They are a huge part of our lives here at The Bee Place. We manage and maintain several hundred hives year-round. When the conditions are favorable and resources available, we are able to make splits from these hives and offer a limited number of starter colonies and Nucs for sale to other beekeepers. These hives require a good deal of time and effort, most of which is in the field and away from the office or a retail store setting. We are always happy to talk bees, but during peak seasons we are not always able to answer the phone or reply to messages immediately. So please be patient when contacting us or placing an order and know that we will respond as soon as we are able.
While we do offer hives with bees, beekeeping supplies and classes to the public, please be aware that we do not have a brick and mortar store at our farm. It may be obvious to some, but it is worth mentioning that we do not have packages of bees sitting on a shelf waiting to be placed in a shopping cart. We take orders via this website and arrange for pick up by appointments only. Basically, we have "Curb Side" style, Pick Up Dates to chose from when placing an order. When we receive your order, we will then be in contact with you to provide the physical address and schedule an appointment time to meet you for your order and/or class. We also offer Basic Beekeeping group classes on our scheduled pick-up dates, which is normally on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
Where are we located? See the map above for the general location. We are based in the Somerset area, about 30 minutes southwest of downtown San Antonio, but we hold events and have bees in other areas at times. Our insurance frowns on us posting our address online for obvious reasons. It is not always a good idea to visit a bee farm unannounced without protective gear. So, please contact us to schedule an appointment and arrange a good time to visit The Bee Place.
