The following information is provided by the supplier of the product:
Api-Bioxal is an oxalic acid-based Varroa mite knock-down treatment specifically developed for honey bees. It is officially registered by the USDA and approved by the EPA, ensuring it meets the highest safety and efficacy standards.
This oxalic acid treatment can be used for dribbling (solution), vaporization sublimation method (requiring special equipment), or spraying on package bees.

To dissolve oxalic acid for the dribble method, mix 35g of Api-Bioxal in 1:1 liter of sugar syrup. Dribble 5 ml of the solution onto the bees in each occupied bee space. For the vaporization sublimation method, use 1g of Api-Bioxal per hive. Seal the entrance and cracks in the hive with tape to ensure the treatment is effective.
The EPA recently established an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of oxalic acid on honey and honeycomb.
This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for oxalic acid residues in these commodities. Consequently, Api-Bioxal oxalic acid is authorized year-round, including when honey supers are in place.
Api-Bioxal oxalic acid can be applied multiple times a year, from spring to winter, in honey bee colonies with little to no brood, even when honey supers are on.
Treating in the presence of a brood does not allow the mite treatment to reach full efficacy, as the knockdown will only target the Varroa mite count in adult bees.
It is possible to obtain brood-free bee colonies naturally during the season at very high temperatures when the queen stops laying eggs or artificially by removing brood combs, splitting the colonies, or caging the queens.

You dissolve the Api-Bioxal powder in warm sugar syrup (1:1 ratio) and then dribble 5ml of this solution onto the bees in each occupied bee space within the hive.
The powder is vaporized within the sealed hive, a method that requires specialized equipment.
Oxalic acid is most effective when there are no or few brood cells present, as mites are primarily on the bees during these times. This typically occurs in the middle of winter or in the case of new package bees.
Not during Honey Flow:
Do not use Api-Bioxal when honey supers are in place or during a honey flow to prevent contamination of hive products.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear a protective mask, gloves, glasses, and long sleeves when handling Api-Bioxal.
Storage: Store the product in a clearly labeled container, away from children.
Hygiene: Do not use food preparation utensils for oxalic acid.
