California leads U.S. citrus production, though historically Florida and Texas were major producers. Florida's citrus industry is centered in its southern peninsula, with Polk County being the top county. Texas citrus production focuses on the Rio Grande Valley, known for its grapefruit, though it also grows other varieties.
Citrus honey season occurs around the same time as the Almond season, so it's hard for most beekeepers to make both runs, but some beekeepers do both.
Below are some images from a Florida trip in January while the Citrus blossoms were starting to emerge and there was still some of the previous season's fruit on the trees.
Also shown are a few images of the Brazilian Pepper trees that bloom every year in Florida and offer the bees a major nectar flow in the fall.
