Before You Arrive

What to Bring With You
Bringing your beekeeping gear is a good idea, even if you are not sure you will need it.
- Bee suit, veil, or jacket if you already own one.
- Any straps, nets, or containment items you plan to use during transport.
- Space prepared in your vehicle for the bees.
Clothing and Protective Gear
Because this is an apiary, protective gear is often helpful, especially for first-time visitors.
Some people choose not to wear gear, while others are more comfortable having it available. Being prepared allows you to decide once you arrive.

Shopping and Supplies
We do not have a brick-and-mortar retail store at the pick up location.
Protective gear and supplies are kept at an off-site, climate-controlled facility.
Ordering supplies in advance allows us to have what you need available when you arrive for your appointment.
Vehicle Considerations
Bees can be transported in trucks, SUVs, or cars when properly contained.
Knowing the approximate size of hives and nucs helps with planning vehicle space ahead of time.

Assistance and Expectations
We will be happy to load the bees for you at pick up.
You are not required to handle the bees while on site unless you choose to.
Being Comfortable Around Bees
It is normal to see bees flying near people, vehicles, and equipment at a bee farm.
If being around bees causes concern, planning ahead with protective gear or containment options can help make the experience more comfortable.
