On Tattered Wings

Her wings may be tattered
and her muscles may be sore,
but another winter’s coming—
she has lots of food to store.

The long, long days of summer
have come and gone once more
foraging for the bounty
before the frost locks the door

The sun rides low in autumn,
the blooms are growing few,
yet every drop of nectar
is a promise of renew.

With wings a little tattered,
worn from daily chores—
another winter’s coming,
she shops, she sips, she scores!

Introduction

Photos & More

We will share a variety of images taken along our journey down “the honey trail,” as our Grandma Sue used to say.

Some may have short descriptions. Others may include a short story or series, while some may not even feature honey bees at all. Then there will be others that need no words at all — simply enjoy them for what they are and what the bees mean to all of us as one large ecosystem, a superorganism.

We have many more photos than we currently have time to sort through and upload, but we will continue adding more as time allows.

Thank you for visiting our site, and as always… Bee Safe!
